Junior School remote learning preparation

18 March 2020

Dear Junior School Parents,

As a follow up to Ms Stone’s update on Queenwood’s response to COVID-19, please see below information regarding our preparations in the Junior School for remote learning in the event of a school closure.

At School all girls have been taking part in Canvas familiarisation sessions. Canvas is our online learning management system. This platform will be used to allow work and communication to flow between teachers and students in the event that we move to remote learning.

Teachers are also preparing paper resource packs and these will be sent home in the near future. These packs will form part of scheduled daily work in the event of a closure. Therefore we ask that no work is completed from the pack until instructed.

At home we are asking all families to participate in a remote learning readiness test over the next two days. Today you will be sent a communication from your daughter’s class teacher via Canvas. This communication outlines a series of tasks to be completed at home.

If the school closes, a daily timetable will be uploaded or emailed each day. This will provide some structure for parents at home. If you require further clarification, please don’t hesitate to email vanessa.collins@queenwood.nsw.edu.au. Thank you for your ongoing patience and support.

Kind regards,

Mrs Angela Toohey
Head of Junior School

Junior School Curriculum Director
