The purpose of the QPA is to create a strong and supportive parent community that will both enhance our daughters’ learning experience and strengthen the bonds of community within the parent body.
- Friend-raising: Fostering a community of parents and support through year group events.
- Community-raising: Creating a community of like-minded parents to support the school through the committee and through school-wide events.
- Fund-raising: Helping to raise funds for the school’s pastoral care program which discretely supports Queenwood families who are experiencing hardship at that point in their lives.
This strong sense of community is a striking characteristic of Queenwood and the QPA aims to nurture this and bring the school community together through these social functions, support groups and fundraising. A range of events and services are offered each year.
Parents meet once a term for general meetings. The QPA news items are communicated via news notices on Queenwood Connect and more detailed articles in QNews. There is a QPA Committee Meeting once a month during term time.
To assist with communication, the QPA organises year level parent representatives at the beginning of the year to liaise between the parents and the School. These year level representatives provide a variety of social events.
