Ms Elizabeth Stone

Ms Stone has been Principal of Queenwood since 2014
 

Previously Vice Principal at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, a leading girls’ school in the United Kingdom, Ms Stone was also the first woman appointed to a senior management position at the 600-year-old Winchester College, where she was Under Master. Before moving to the United Kingdom, she was a Mathematics teacher at Barker College, Sydney.

After completing an Arts/Law degree, Ms Stone worked in the Supreme Court of NSW before being awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies in law at Oxford University. She has Bachelor degrees in Arts and Law from UNSW, a Masters from Oxford University, a Graduate Diploma in Education from Charles Sturt University and an Associate Diploma in Music from AMEB.

Ms Stone has experience teaching a range of curricula in the UK and Australia and has taught in co-educational and single-sex environments (boys and girls). She brings a wide range of experience from academic, commercial and educational roles, and strong cultural and intellectual interests, to her work as Principal. Her personal interests include piano and choral music, long-distance cycling and judo, in which she has a black belt and has been a qualified coach.
