Governance
Leadership committed to the future.
Founded in 1925 and incorporated in 1966, Queenwood has a long-standing commitment to educational excellence and to empowering young women to lead lives of purpose, curiosity and impact. As an independent, not-for-profit school, Queenwood is guided by a clear vision: to cultivate intellectual rigour, character, confidence and compassion in every student.
The Council is Queenwood’s governing body and is responsible for the strategic stewardship of the School. Acting in the best interests of Queenwood and its community, the Council provides oversight of the School’s long-term direction, ensuring that its mission, values and objectives remain at the centre of decision-making.
Council members bring a diverse range of expertise and experience from education, business, professional services and the broader community. Serving in a voluntary capacity, they contribute their knowledge, insight and judgement to support the continued success and sustainability of the School. Working closely with the Principal and Executive Team, the Council oversees Queenwood’s strategic plan, financial sustainability, risk management and governance framework. It is responsible for ensuring that the School operates with integrity, meets its regulatory obligations and maintains a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Through effective governance and informed oversight, the Council supports Queenwood’s commitment to delivering exceptional educational opportunities and outcomes for current and future generations of students.
