A School of Her Own embraces the philosophy at the heart of independent girls' education, fostering intellectual freedom, confidence, and leadership in an environment designed for girls to thrive. Like Woolf's vision in A Room of One’s Own, A School of Her Own recognises that autonomy, space, and opportunity are essential for creativity and self-realisation. Queenwood, an independent girls' school, provides a space where girls' voices and agency are central, where they are encouraged to take intellectual risks, challenge conventions, and define success on their own terms. Just as Woolf reimagined adventure as a voyage of the mind and spirit, Queenwood's motto and values aim to cultivate curiosity, courage, and independence. We nurture young women, who are not simply participants fitting into existing structures but, more importantly, the architects of new ones, forging their own way forward. A School of Her Own is our living declaration of what a Queenwood education stands for today.
