Gayle Kennedy is a member of the Wongaibon Clan of the Ngiayampaa speaking Nation of south-west New South Wales, and a proud Queenwood alumna.
An award-winning writer, she has published widely across newspapers, magazines, literary journals and radio. Gayle is widely recognised for her work on Indigenous issues and as a disability advocate, and has spoken extensively throughout Australia and internationally on disability and the arts.
Gayle spoke about her experience at Queenwood under the Aboriginal Education Department on ABC radio last week as part of NAIDOC.
