    In the senior years Queenwood seeks to develop not only academic potential but also creative, sporting and interpersonal skills. The curriculum is designed to challenge students, and provide choice and flexibility in learning.

    In Years 11 and 12 Queenwood offers both the Higher School Certificate (HSC) and the International Baccalaureate (IB), an internationally recognised alternative pathway to matriculation. Almost all of Queenwood’s Year 12 graduates further their education at a tertiary level and our consistently high ATAR rankings ensures most can undertake studies in their chosen fields.

    Students studying the HSC are offered Ancient and Modern History, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Drama, Economics, English, French, Geography, German, Italian Beginners, Information Processes and Technology, Japanese, Latin, Mathematics, Music, PD/Health/PE, Physics, Textiles and Design, Visual Arts.

    As party of the IB students can study English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Japanese, Spanish Beginners, Economics, History, Psychology and World Religions, with additional areas of commitment including Theory of Knowledge and Community, Action and Service (CAS).

    Core subjects in Years 7 to10 are English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, PD/Health/PE and Technology. Electives in these years span Commerce, Information and Software Technology, Drama, French, German, Japanese, Latin, Music, Textiles Technology and Visual Arts.

    Queenwood is conscious that students have diverse abilities and needs. Girls requiring additional assistance and acceleration have access to available special learning support, and extension programs are made available to students achieving at a high level. Students who benefit from extension work in earlier years will have the opportunity to work at an advanced level, with access to Gifted and Talented programs.
