About The Principal
Appointed as Principal at the start of Term 2 2014, Ms Elizabeth Stone BA LLB (UNSW), MLitt (Oxon), Grad Dip Ed (CSU), AMusA (AMEB) is an experienced educator and school leader, with a strong track record for creating positive and nurturing learning environments at independent schools.
Previously Vice Principal at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, a leading girls’ school in the United Kingdom, Ms Stone was also the first woman appointed to a senior management position at the 600-year-old Winchester College, where she was Under Master. Before moving to the United Kingdom, she was a mathematics teacher at Barker College, Sydney.
A graduate in Arts-Law from UNSW, Ms Stone worked in the Supreme Court of NSW before being awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies in law at Oxford University. She has Bachelor degrees in Arts and Law from UNSW, a Masters from Oxford University, a Graduate Diploma in Education from Charles Sturt University and an Associate Diploma in Music from AMEB. Her interests include piano and choral music, long-distance cycling and judo, in which she has a black belt and is a qualified coach.
