Academic Results

Our girls consistently achieve formidable results in the HSC and IB Diploma, reflecting the quality of teaching and deep culture of learning at Queenwood.

We are academically non-selective and yet our results reliably place us in the top few such schools in the State.

We congratulate those who have achieved outstanding results as judged against their peers, and equally those who have achieved outstanding results as judged against themselves. Our students gain entry to a wide range of courses at universities and institutions in Australia and overseas, and examinations are important as a passport to further inspiring possibilities.

"The teachers at Queenwood are endlessly supportive – they truly care so much about every student’s academic journey and are willing to give up their own time to help students who need assistance."
Profile_Headshot_Circle_N-Han.png

My academic success was due to both my personal ambition, as well as the strong support systems around me. Whenever I needed help or was lacking in motivation, I would always rely on my friends’ encouragement, or my teachers who were always willing to take some time out of their busy schedules to assist me. During my time at Queenwood, I was involved in a few areas of service, including volunteering for the Rough Edges program, which was an incredibly gratifying experience, and taking part in Mosman RSL’s Anzac Day Service as a Leadership Prefect.

7TH IN THE STATE FOR BUSINESS STUDIES

"I will remember how dedicated my teachers were, and how willing they were to go beyond what was necessary and mark additional papers, and also be available to answer questions."

Both Business Studies and Economics are very interesting subjects to me personally, and I enjoy how they apply to the real world. Business Studies has given me understanding of many things I will need to know if I ever go into business, and Economics has given me a better understanding of how the economy relates to real world issues and current affairs. Both subjects also required me to develop communication skills as they both required short answers and essay’s and forced me to develop critical thinking by having to apply knowledge to unseen questions.

1ST IN THE STATE FOR SCIENCE EXTENSION
2023 LEADERSHIP PREFECT

"A key take away from being a Leadership Prefect has been the opportunity to help younger girls navigate their way through school life including subject selection, friend groups, cocurricular activities and how to make the most of life at Queenwood."
Profile_Headshot_Circle_J-Mulcahy.png

Throughout my school years, I tried to focus on the effort that I was putting into study and assessment tasks rather than the end result. Whilst this was hard, knowing that I had put 100% of my effort into studying for a test gave me confidence as I knew I had done everything I possibly could have done. I also had great support from teachers, whose unwavering support and assistance in providing feedback or helping me understand harder questions ensured I had no gaps in my knowledge. The encouragement from these teachers as well as my family, was invaluable, as they were always there to talk or give advice.
