Peer Support

Peer support relationships offer opportunities for growth for all girls.

There are times when girls need a little extra help. The support, example and advice of their peers can be a powerful source of encouragement

The relationship works in both directions, as older girls grow in patience, kindness and maturity through working with their younger peers. Peer support networks, formal and informal, build a strong and inclusive culture across the School.

In the Junior School, girls in Years 5 and 6 are given a buddy in Kindergarten or Year 1. They play together, read together and learn from each other, creating a special and lasting bond.

In the Senior School, Year 10 Peer Support leaders are trained to deliver a specific program for the Year 7 students designed to assist their transition into secondary schooling. The program is structured to explore values, build positive relationships and develop key social and emotional skills.

Older girls are also invited to assist younger girls on an individual basis. Their connection might be framed around a common interest, regular tutoring or just sharing ideas about life and friendship.
