In addition to organised overseas trips, Queenwood has an active program of student exchanges in which girls studying another language live overseas and attend school in another country for a period of time.
Language exchanges suit students in Years 10 and 11 who have the maturity to manage life with another family in a foreign country. In 2011, Queenwood commenced a partnership with the College Blanche de Castille near Paris, under which Year 10 students are hosted locally and attend the school to develop their French speaking skills.
Queenwood believes that students are best served by exchanges of up to six weeks, usually in the final term of Year 10. All applications for exchanges and hosting arrangements should be discussed with the School.
Year 9 students can apply to go on exchange to St Peters School in New Zealand. Girls wishing to be considered for this program need to write a letter of application and participate in an interview with the Year 9 Coordinator and the Head of Senior School. This exchange provides a unique opportunity for the girls to experience life in a co-educational rural school in New Zealand.
