Redevelopment Update

The plans for redevelopment at 44 Mandolong Road are proceeding smoothly. The building designed by architects Noel Bell, Ridley Smith and partners, will include state of the art science labs and sports facilities including a 25 metre pool and gymnasium.

The DA was submitted in May and the Council are still assessing it. A model has been prepared and can be viewed in Council. The model will be returned to Queenwood in due course and put on display.

Design News

The Mac lab is up and running. Students are now able to use industry-based software to develop their skills in graphic design, illustration and artworks. IT students in the new Year 9 elective, Design and Technology, have been using Dreamweaver to produce designs for websites.

New Head for Queenwood

Queenwood wishes to announce the decision of Mrs Kem Bray, after a distinguished 27-year career at Queenwood, to retire as Principal, effective from the end of Term 3.

Following Mrs Bray’s decision and after a rigorous Board review process, the school is pleased to also announce that James Harpur, currently Deputy Principal, has been selected as Queenwood’s new Principal, effective Term 4.

Mrs Bray’s last day at Queenwood will be 26th September, allowing her to see our Year 12 group through to the end of their HSC studies at the school. Members of the Queenwood community are welcome to extend their congratulations and best wishes to Mrs Bray for an enjoyable retirement in person before then.
