Achievements

Sports Achievements


Congratulations to a number of students who have excelled in their respective sports recently. These include:

• Imogene Ewen and Sarah Roger for selection in the Open IGSSA Soccer Team to play NSWCIS.

• Laura and Olivia Edwards for selection in NSWCIS Swimming team at All Schools Swimming, with Emma Ludowici selected in the Diving team at the All Schools.

• Emma Scriven on her selection for the NSWCIS Open Hockey team to compete at the NSW All Schools Championships on 8 and 9 July 2008.

• Six Queenwood students who were selected to represent IGSSA at the NSWCIS Cross Country. They were: Indy Beard, Katie Buttel, Sarah Fitch Hannah and Kate Fitzpatrick and Sarah Roger.

• Indy Beard and Hannah Fitzpatrick gained places at the NSWCIS Cross Country and have now been selected to compete in the NSWCIS team to compete at the All Schools.

Sports stars honoured


Queenwood students Katie Buttel and Joanna Lawson were honoured for sporting achievements at the recent NSWCIS Awards Presentation evening.

Year 7 student, Katie Buttel was a triple award recipient. Her award for Outstanding Primary Student Contribution was recognition of her all round achievements. Katie also received a Red for outstanding contribution to netball in which she represented the State as part of the Primary NSWCIS team. Her other award for the night was for being part of the Primary Team of the Year.

Joanna Lawson in Year 10 was recognised for being a member of the Open School Girls’ Cricket team for the third year running. Her team also won the prestigious Secondary Team of the Year Award.

Congratulations


Head of PDHPE at Queenwood, Miss Kate Mortimer, recently won a gold medal in the National Surf Life Saving Championships held in Western Australia. Kate’s team won the gold medal in the Open Women’s Surf Boat section. This was a great achievement and fine example to students of hard work and determination.
