To Be Their Best

Queenwood is a school that challenges girls to be their best. A single sex school provides an environment where students can achieve, be recognised for their efforts, and take on a full range of leadership roles.

A view that opportunities are limitless is encouraged and borne out in many of the high achievers who have gone to Queenwood, from a Rhodes Scholar to an Olympian to award winning authors.

Whether high profile or not, the sense that each individual should grasp the opportunities they are given and make the most of their strengths while learning from their weaknesses is an approach adopted at Queenwood.

But it is not all about self, and an underlying ethos of the School is while helping each girl take responsibility for themselves they must show care and respect for others.

This ties in with the discipline code of Queenwood which is based on a simple principle of self-discipline that requires students to ask:

  • Will this action be SAFE for everyone concerned?

  • Is this action CONSIDERATE of everyone who might be affected?

  • Does this action REFLECT WELL on myself, my family and my school?

The emphasis is on development of self-discipline but with reasonable consequences if actions are inappropriate.

Queenwood works in partnership with families in helping the girls to develop their potential. Through setting goals, communicating expectations and giving support, the School aims to bring out the best in each student.
